Goddess Bless Leslie Knope for inventing Galentine’s Day on Season 2 of Parks and Recreation. What exactly is Galentine’s Day? To quote the lady herself: “Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”
Galentine’s Day is a day celebrating breakfast foods and friendship appreciation. After all, the whole point of the Valentine season (yes, it’s a season now) is to celebrate the one you love. Who do you love more than your Sparkle Squad of gal pals? Here are our best tips for throwing your own Galentine’s Day celebration. We won’t tell anyone if you also recycle some of these tips for Valentine’s Day.

Food and Drink
A traditional Galentine’s Day feast means serving a lot of breakfast foods, especially waffles, but we like to put a little fairytale spin on it with Unicorn Cocoa, Princess Punch, and Valentine cheesecake.
