It’s Been A Lady Gaga Week Full Of Surprises
Gaga’s Sparklebomb Super Bowl LI Halftime Show was one of our favorite moments of the week, but then Lady Gaga announced her World Tour, and directly got in line to buy tickets. Then on Wednesday she was announcing she’d be a guest judge on the new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and by Thursday Gaga was dropping a brand new music video for John Wayne. Whew, what a week, what can Friday bring?
Directed by longtime collaborator Jonas Åkerlund, who worked with the singer on the videos for “Telephone” and “Paparazzi,” “John Wayne” features a bevy of amazing costumes, bright neon colors and some pretty impressive choreography, a lot of which Gaga executes while riding a motorcycle. It’s sexy, it’s violent, it screams of a new road for Gaga that we are mad about!
And from a strictly visually standpoint her text treatments with full Lisa Frank colors and leopard pattern are off the charts!!! OMG! But we have to say we love this video because of all it’s gorgeous full-color, highly-saturated lighting, which takes us to a world we want to play in all day. We can’t deny that the visuals give the song a lush new context that brings it to life. Seeing this mix of white trash, 80’s, hill-billy vibe is new and exciting for her fans, and we are more then happy to be taken on the ride.
