How to Write Your Life: Confessions of an Award-Winning AI Memoirist

how to write confessions of an award winning AI Memoist

Everyone has a story to tell. It’s never been easier to write it down.

Learn all my tips and tricks for writing with AI! I’m dyslexic. I still can’t spell “again.” I fought my first book for eight years. Then I finished it with a machine, and it became the first openly AI-assisted memoir to win a 2026 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award. I confessed it all in Fortune magazine.

This is the map I wish someone had handed me. You don’t need to be famous. You need a story, and the nerve to tell it.

How to Write Your Life walks you through the Hero’s Journey, the shape hiding inside every great story, from The Wizard of Oz to your own backyard. You’ll find where your story really starts, and the chapter you’ve been too scared to write. And you’ll learn how to use AI without letting it write for you.

Then it shows you how to get it out into the world. Your own ISBNs, a real printed book, query letters, early reviews, awards, podcasts, and press. Everything I did to publish without anybody’s permission.

Your book, out in the world. Without the gatekeepers.

You wrote the book. Now you need it to look like a real book, show up on Amazon and in bookstores, and land in front of readers. That’s the part that stops most people. It’s the part I’m good at.

I’m Luke Stoffel. I won a 2026 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award for my debut memoir, and I design, format, and launch my own books. I’ve spent fifteen years as a creative director. I’ll publish your book the same way I publish mine.

You keep everything

This isn’t a vanity press. You keep your rights, your ISBNs, and your royalties. Your book is published under your name, in your accounts. I just do the work.

How it works

  1. We talk. A free 20-minute call about your book and what you need.
  2. You pick a package. Half up front, half when your book goes live.
  3. I build it. Two rounds of revisions are included on every design.
  4. You approve the proof. Nothing goes on sale until you’ve held it in your hands.
  5. It’s live. And it’s yours.

Questions

Do I need to have finished writing?
Yes. These packages start once your manuscript is final. If you’re still writing, my book How to Write Your Life will get you there.

Do you edit?
Not in these packages. I strongly recommend a human editor and four or five beta readers before you come to me.

Will my book be in bookstores?
Through IngramSpark, any bookstore or library can order it. Getting it stocked on a shelf is a separate hustle, and I’ll tell you how.

How long does it take?
Usually four to eight weeks, depending on the package and your revisions.

Do you use AI?
For the boring parts, like formatting code and research. Never to write or rewrite your book.
