The Magicians Is A Thrilling Read That Makes Great TV
If you have been missing your Harry Potter fix, and Fantasic Beasts isn’t cutting it, dive into the world of The Magicians by Lev Grossman. Half Narnia, half a School for Witchcraft and Wizardry The Magicians centers around Quentin Coldwater who enrolls at Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy to be trained as a magician, where he discovers that the magical world from his favorite childhood books is real and poses a danger to humanity. Meanwhile, the life of his childhood friend Julia is derailed when she is denied entry, and she searches for magic elsewhere.
This thrilling trilogy is an excellent read, but if you are looking to get into the world a little faster there’s a new Syfy tv show that is also looking to be an extreme hit! Note we will be binge watching it all next weekend, as we’ve been binge reading all this weekend.
