This hometown treat is from my favorite pizza parlor and ice cream shop, “Happy Joe’s”—or, as we liked to call it in high school, “Gay José’s!” We would wait all year for the December ice cream special, which was always the North Pole Sundae! And from December to January we would eat more ice cream then we did all summer!

What You Need:
Peppermint or Vanilla Ice Cream
Step By Step:
Fill a large white cup (or sundae glass) about halfway full with peppermint ice cream. Top with a layer of marshmallow creme and hot fudge.
Continue to fill the cup to the top, adding another layer of both marshmallow creme and hot fudge before topping the glass with whipped cream, peanuts (if desired), and sprinkle with crushed candy canes.
Don’t forget to add a cherry on top!
