This hometown treat is from my favorite pizza parlor and ice cream shop, “Happy Joe’s”—or, as we liked to call it in high school, “Gay José’s!” We would wait all year for the December ice cream special, which was always the North Pole Sundae! And from December to January we would eat more ice cream then we did all summer!
