Troye Sivan’s Heaven is soo Beautiful!
Troye Sivan is our hero. He’s ever open life and message helping younger generations know that gay is, indeed, okay… is why we love him so much! This new music video for “Heaven,” featuring Betty Who written for his debut album Blue Neighbourhood is visually stunning, but also it’s so much more than that.
“Heaven” itself is about growing up gay, repressing your truth, and ultimately deciding that truth, in the here and now, is more important than missing out on some piece of an afterlife that may or may not exist. In a video blog posted to his YouTube channel, Sivan explains how he, himself, was the hardest person to come out to. “Eventually I got to the point; if there is a heaven that I can’t be myself up there then maybe I don’t want heaven.”
Releasing this video the day before the inauguration was a symbol to all those struggling that it is ok! Your fight is valid and we are here to protect you… even if your government is not. Troye we will always look up to you, and we can’t wait for your bright future (and music) to shine through the rest of our lives.
